ORDER FORMS: Please submit each item ordered
on a separate Flashcards Order Form. It is extremely important
to fill out all orders clearly and completely. To ensure that
your orders are not delayed, please be sure all information,
such as ink color{s), stock and quantity, is indicated clearly.
Please notify us when you run low so we may send more forms.
A custom Ideal stamp with your dealer information is available
upon request. When supplying camera ready art or files on
disks, be sure to write the job name and file names, etc.
on both order form and disk. If additional sheets or envelopes
are attached to your order, please staple in the upper left
corner, being careful not to staple through artwork or photos.
Indicating previous order date is helpful on repeat orders.
Please include Dealer Account Number on all order forms and
inquiries.
LAYOUT:
Business Cards: Standard business card size
is 3 1/2" X 2". Each card is set with 1/4"
margins on all sides. If your copy is oversized we will set
margins to fit in our best judgement. The minimum margin without
extra cost is 1/8". Specific layout requirements are
often difficult to convey in the space provided on the order
form. We encourage you to request a proof on any order that
has complex layout requirements, or send the job camera ready.
Standard pricing is based on normal coverage of line art and
type.
Letterhead & Envelope: Standard letterhead
size is 81/2" X 11 ". Each letterhead is set with
1/2" left and right margins. The standard is 5/8"
top margin and 3/8" bottom margin. Other margins are
available on specific request, however, we will need at least
5/16" gripper margin at the top or bottom. Standard margins
for envelopes are 5/8" top and left or centered on the
back flap.
Envelopes printed on the front as well as the back flap will
be priced according to stock, ink and quantity, plus the price
of customer stock.
Announcements: Copy is laid out vertically
or horizontally as specified, and all lines are set in the
same size and centered to one another unless otherwise specified.
TYPESETTING: All cards, stationery and announcements
include typesetting up to 15 lines per side including horizontal
and vertical rules. Vertical cards include up to 20 lines
of copy including rules. There is no additional charge for
mixing different typestyles or sizes. Typestyles and sizes
should be specified using the designated codes for style and
size shown in the typestyle section of the Flashcards catalog.
When a sample is sent in with no typestyles specified,
exact matches cannot be guaranteed. When samples are faxed,
typestyles are extremely difficult to distinguish. A typestyle
will be selected that resembles the sample as closely as possible.
Script typestyles are generally not recommended in all caps.
Sizes smaller than those illustrated in our catalog will not
reproduce well and may be adjusted as necessary. Standard
body copy is Helvetica 8 point. Body copy is set flush left
and right. Customers desiring styles, sizes or layout other
than standard MUST indicate them properly on the order form.
Thin typestyles are not recommended for foil stamping.
PROOFS: A proof may be requested for approval
of typesetting and layout before printing.
There is
no charge for a proof of a single layout. If multiple
layouts are requested, an additional typesetting charge ($4.00
minimum) will be added for each additional layout unless orders
are printed for each version. Any changes noted on the proof,
(other than to correct our errors) will be billed at $4.00
per revision. Orders cancelled prior to printing will be charged
for work done, with a $5.00 minimum.
Proofs are normally faxed within one day of the receipt of
the order. Rush proofs are available upon request and as work
load permits. If a proof is not received within 24 hours of
submitting the order, feel free to call and check the status.
We reserve the right to provide a proof on any order to ensure
accuracy. Proofs can also be emailed for a $5 charge. Please
indicate clearly on your order form what email address to
send them to.
Ok'd proofs {including emailed proofs)
must be faxed back to Flashcards.
SCREENS / TINTS: Most logos and type can
be screened to appear lighter than they would when printed
as a solid. Art that is to be screened needs to be sent in
as a black solid on white or on disk. Prescreened customer
art will not reproduce well. Bolder, larger images usually
reproduce better when screened. Most screens are printed at
10% to 20%. Screens other than these may be requested. An
image may be screened in the background of a letterhead if
the order is flat printed. The basic charge for screens is
$5.00 per order including camera ready art.

SPECIAL INK COLORS: If a job requires an
ink color other than one of our standard colors, the color
must be specified by its Pantone number. Factors such as paper
color, ink coverage, thermography or flat printing all affect
the color of the ink on the finished product. Please refer
to the coated sample section of a Pantone formula guide when
specifying ink colors for thermography and uncoated section
for flat printing. Pantone colors must be specified. We will
not be responsible for matching color solely from samples.

CUSTOMER PROVIDED STOCK: We are proud to
offer one of the widest selections of paper grades and colors
available. However, if you would like to provide customer
stock, clearly mark business card shells not produced by Flashcards
may require additional chargeable bindery work. You will be
notified in advance of any problems. Please provide a minimum
overage of 15% or 50 sheets. This applies to stationery and
envelopes as well as business cards. Jobs requiring several
colors or processes may require more stock. All customer-supplied
stock is subject to review by the production department.
RECYCLED PAPERS: Most, but not all, recycled
paper contains "Post Consumer Waste," which means
that a portion of the paper fibers may contain residual ink
or toner. Any stock designated as recycled may contain some
dark specks which occur in the manufacture of the paper. Please
be aware of this characteristic in many of today's papers
and advise your customers.

FLAT PRINTING: Flat printed business cards
are available for an additional $1.00 per set.
Special combination ink color pricing does not apply to flat
printing. Flat printing of letterhead, envelopes and announcements
is available at no extra cost. Delivery will be delayed at
least one extra day to prevent offsetting. Please specify
flat printing or the job will be thermographed. Metallic,
Kromekote, Parchment and Econocard stocks are not available
in flat printing. Any job requiring flat and raised print
must be approved, priced and scheduled separately.
LASER COMPATIBLE THERMOGRAPHY: Traditionally, standard
thermography has not been compatible with most copiers and
laser printers. Laser printing or copying onto thermographed
stationery may melt the thermographed image, possibly damaging
the equipment and ruining the stationery. You may request
Flat printing on any stationery order by checking the FLAT
PRINT box on the order form. For stationery, flat printing
is priced the same as standard thermography. All orders will
be printed with standard thermography unless other instructions
are clearly indicated.
We offer
LASER COMPATIBLE THERMOGRAPHY which
will overcome the problems associated with laser printing
onto thermographed sheets. This process differs from traditional
raised letter printing because different inks, powders, and
equipment are used. The finished product may not look as glossy
as regular thermography and may feel rougher with ink colors
appearing darker.
The laser thermography process is especially intended for
letterhead orders. Envelopes generally cannot be guaranteed
to perform well in laser printers due to the gummed flaps.
Letterhead papers that are laser friendly are designated on
Page 3 of this book. To insure that any stationery orders
you place will be guaranteed laser compatible, the appropriate
box must be indicated on your order form.
We cannot
accept responsibility for any damage to documents if Laser
Compatible is not clearly marked on the order form.
There is an additional cost of $7.00 per order for jobs printed
in Black or Reflex Blue inks and an additional cost of $12.00
for jobs printed in any other color. Foil and gold ink are
not available.

FULL COLOR CARDS: Our full color cards are
intended to provide you with a cost effective high quality
product. You can expect full color image reproduction that
will represent the original image closely. Due to the production
limitations of scanning, imaging, and process printing,
exact
color matching is not possible and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
Color variation may occur with photographic originals as well
as with reproduction of spot colors. Since the cards are produced
using CMYK process colors, many shades possible through Pantone
Matching cannot be reproduced exactly.
All full color cards will be flat printed. Raised ink printing
is not included at the published prices. For special projects
that require additional processes such as thermography, foil
stamping, or embossing, please call for a quote.
The prices listed in the price book include basic typesetting
and one scan from a color photograph. For customer supplied
files, prices include file analysis. Work other than basic
scanning/color correcting, and other file manipulation will
be charged. Laser proofs will be provided on all jobs at no
charge. Signed, approved proofs must be returned prior to
production. Please allow 7 to 10 working days after proof
approval for production. We recommend the use of a thin (1/2
point) black border around photographs, and will usually include
one on proofs. There is a 1/8" minimum unprinted margin
required. Bleeds, or images that run completely off the edge
of the card will require additional costs.
TWO SIDED CARDS: Cards which are printed on both sides will
have the back side flat printed. Send or fax samples. clearly
labeled front and back. On coated stocks, back side printing
is not available.
Please allow 2-3 extra working days.
FOLDOVER CARDS: We will deliver foldover
cards cut and scored unless otherwise noted on your order
form. Standard foldover cards will be 3 1/2" x 4"
and scored in half to make a 3 1/2" X 2" flush foldover.
If you wish we can score your foldover card to leave a 3/8"
lip for a staggered fold. Cards with staggered fold are 2
:3/16 x 3 1/2 when folded. Foldover cards will be printed
flat on the inside and thermographed on the outside unless
otherwise specified. Some stocks are not suitable for foldover
cards. For other sizes or folds please call for quote. Please
allow 4 to 6 working days.

ORDER QUANTITY: All quantities of printed
material are approximate. While every effort is made to ship
the exact quantity ordered, variances cannot be avoided. Our
standard tolerance is 10% over or under. We will not make
up shortages within this range.
CUSTOMER SALES POLICY: Flashcards maintains
a Wholesale Only status. We sell exclusively through dealers
(individuals or companies actively producing or distributing
printed products, marking devices, identification products
or related specialty items).

do not fax orders for which hard copies have already been

We do not accept telephone reorders; fax in all reorders with

REQUESTS FOR ROUTE PICK-UP: Customers within
our local pick-up and delivery area may call for order pick-up.
Pick-up requests called in by 2:00 PM Mon.- Fri. will be made
on that day. Requests called in later than 2:00 PM will be
made the following business day. If we fail to make a scheduled
pick-up please call us as soon as possible so that we may
arrange to pick the order(s) up.
JOB STATUS REQUESTS: Almost every order is
produced and shipped on or before the due dates based on our
production schedule shown on Page 9. If you find it necessary
to check the status of an order, please provide as much information
as possible when you call. While we make every effort to give
an immediate status report, some inquiries may require us
to research the job and call you back.

CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES: Any changes to
an order in production must be requested by phone or fax.
A service charge of $5.00 minimum will be added to cover the
cost of locating the order, making changes and returning to
production.
RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $20.00 charge
assessed for all returned checks.
RUSH CHARGES: If you have a job that requires a faster turnaround
time than our standard delivery schedule allows, please call
us and we will try to accommodate you. An overtime production
charge may be applied depending on the situation.
ESTIMATES AND PRICE VERIFICATION: We are
glad to assist you with price list information over the telephone.
However telephone estimates are subject to confirmation and
possible revision upon receipt of the written order form and
art.
COPYRIGHT NOTICE: The artwork and logos illustrated
in our catalogs may be owned by others and usage may require
permission from the owner. Flashcards, Inc. assumes no responsibility
for determining whether any artwork illustrated here is the
property of others or for obtaining permission from any owner
for any use of any artwork. Dealer assumes responsibility
for conforming to all coppyright laws when specifying that
any artwork be printed on their order(s).

ERRORS AND CLAIMS: Flashcards will correct
and reprint at no charge any order we produce which contains
our errors or unacceptable quality. Any revisions to the order
will generally result in splitting the costs of the remake.
Your cost would be half of the original cost. Our liability
is specifically limited to the invoiced amount of the product
ordered.
Under no circumstances will we accept responsibility
for consequential damages as a result of an error made on
our part. We strongly advise you to check all incoming orders
for accuracy prior to passing them on to your customer. All
claims must be submitted within 30 days.
SHIPPING POLICY: Austin Area Customers -Delivery
to our dealers' place of business is included at no extra
charge in most cases, subject to our existing route structure.
We cannot make deliveries to residences, end users or third
party locations. The actual cost of delivery or shipping ($3.50
minimum) will be added to each delivery address for any orders
drop shipped or delivered via courier in the Austin area.
Mail Order Service Customers- All orders are shipped
prepaid in the continental United States by United Parcel
Service (UPS) Ground Track Service. Actual shipping charges
will be added to your invoice. Special handling such as UPS
Next Day Air or Second Day Air is available at additional
cost. We cannot guarantee delivery time once orders are in
the carrier's possession. We will drop ship orders to your
customer for actual shipping costs ($3.50 minimum).
Important Notice -Please be aware that UPS
adds an additional surcharge of $1.75 to $3.00 per shipment
for residential deliveries even if you are operating a business
out of your residence. e must pass along these charges on
all shipments which UPS classifies as residential. f you request
drop shipments to your customers, please be aware that if
you provide the wrong address, UPS charges us $5.00 to research
and deliver to the correct address. We will pass on his charge
to you.
